Using Color in Your Meditation

Color can be used in your meditation and it can help you produce results that are specific associated with each chakra point. For example, using red in a meditation can help you become more grounded. Using orange can help you become more creative. (Check out outcomes to learn more of the spiritual gifts associate with each chakra).

As you experience different colors, or light waves, the energy effects on the energy body will produce an increase of specific types or patterns.  You may ask how this works.  If the physical eyes see the color, how is this transmitted to the chakra points?  It is true that the physical eyes do experience the colors but by their nature, the chakra points can differentiate the incoming stimulus and are fed by it

Using Colored Light

This initial colored light meditation will require using a colored light, such as a colored electric light bulb or placing a sheer colored cloth over a lamp..

After you have selected the color to use in your meditation, turn on the colored light or drape the colored cloth over light and allow the room to fill with the light you have selected for your meditation.

Begin the basic meditation and visualize using the color to connect with the 1st chakra.  Notice the affect that color and light has on the chakra.  Visualize the color of light helping to clear the chakra.  Visualize the color of light aligning the chakra.  Visualize the color of light energizing the chakra.  When ready, move your attention to the next chakra and again visualize the connection of the color of light and its impact on that chakra.

Continue this same process until you have connected with each chakra and visualized the connection with the specific color of light and noticed the colored energy of light and how it affects each of the chakras..  When ready to end the meditation, visualize becoming disengaged from the colored light, chakra by chakra.  When ready, end your meditation and slowly transition to a more "awake" state of mind. Take note of the feelings and impressions that came into your mind during the meditation. When ready, resume your normal state of mind.

Visualizing the Chakra Color in the Chakra Meditation

Another color meditation is one where you would visualize the color in your mind and use that during the meditation process rather than using a colored light bulb.

Let’s take the 2nd chakra meditation, for example.  As you visualize the 2nd point, dwell on it.  Spend some time with it.  A minute or more, or even more.  Visualize the orange as you do.  You should visualize and experience creativity and spirituality and sexuality.

You need to strive to obtain these feelings.  As you do, then notice if the other chakra points are tinted by the orange color and how that tinting benefits the other points.  For example, sense how the creativity of the 2nd point benefits the throat chakra or communication.   How the spirituality of the 2nd point benefits the 6th point of mind chakra.  See how it can accept new ideas better, quicker, grasp concepts faster, obtain wisdom, insight, knowledge.

These exercises take time.  Also, do not be concerned about doing things correctly.  Follow your feelings.  If it feels good or seems right, then it is OK.  If it makes you uncomfortable, then change.  There is neither right nor wrong in meditation methods; only what benefits you.

Sometimes you need to invest time in order to discover answers to questions.  During the training process, train your conscious and subconscious abilities.  You may meditate for discovery and for what you can find.  Also, you can slow down the meditation process and achieve greater benefits.
